Hi, my name is Marcus Tuttle and I’m a storyteller, writer, arts administrator and designer living in Niagara.
I studied English Literature, Popular Culture and Dramatic Arts at Brock University, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree and graduating at the top of my class. My love of these subject areas is what led me to study Public Relations at Niagara College and create this blog about television.
Over the course of my education I have taken numerous workshop-based courses in playwriting, poetry, acting, news writing, producing and cultural criticism.
My poem “Sugarcane” was recently published in the Hamilton Arts & Letters Magazine.
Since graduating, I have worked as an arts administrator, public relations practitioner and program coordinator for several theatres, including:
- Twitches & Itches Theatre, an emerging artist ensemble that creates original works of theatre through processes of collaboration.
- Essential Collective Theatre, a St. Catharines-based theatre that is committed to producing contemporary Canadian theatre that reflects the Niagara Region.
- Carousel Players, an award-winning theatre for young audiences that has toured provincially, nationally and even internationally for the past 45 years.
Oh, and I may or may not have had a funny little Cameo on Degrassi a few years back (0:46-1:01, left side of the screen)
In my backpack, you’re sure to find a notebook and pen, a good book, some salty snacks and a pair of headphones.
